Kolekcia Orboretum tvorí prierez tvorbou kapely, vrátane nových a vzácnych mixov, ktorú zostavil Dr. Alex Paterson, spoluzakladateľ a jediný člen tejto legendárnej ambient-house kapely, ktorý v nej účinkuje od jej vzniku.„Orboretum: The Orb Collection“ siaha ďaleko do minulosti, ale sústreďuje sa aj na nedávne vrcholy albumov ako „Abolition Of The Royal Familia“ (2020) a „Prism“ (2023), ktoré médiá citovali ako jedny z ich najlepších.
„Nechcem, aby The Orb skončili ako Roxy Music, ktorí vždy vydávali ďalšie best-of, hoci sme vydali best-of „History Of The Future“ v roku 2013 a jeho 2. časť v roku 2015. Máme však taký gigantický katalóg, že niekedy dokonca aj ja potrebujem pripomenutie toho, čo som urobil.. Toto je akýsi režisérsky prierez našou produkciou, vytvára nové nervové dráhy a nové porovnania. Niektoré z týchto stôp sú od seba vzdialené 30 rokov, no existujú jasné línie, kontinuum."
